Following lengthy negotiations with City Property we are delighted to confirm our negotiations have finally reached a conclusion.
RDT has leased, managed and maintained the Millburn Centre (the former Rosemount Primary School) for 35 years. However, for several years, it has no longer served its purpose as a Business Centre and has been sitting vacant since November 2021.
With no income generation from the Millburn Centre RDT was dependent on its subsidiary company Rosemount (Workspace) Ltd to cover substantial vacant building costs.
The building was put on the market for sale by City Property (the Landlord), with ownership of the building transferring on 14th February 2025.
Our lease was renunciated (terminated) and responsibility for the Millburn Centre ceased at the same time.
We are now relieved to have this financial burden lifted, strengthening our organisation as a whole and enabling us to move forward with our charitable objectives, and supporting our community to develop and regenerate.
The successful buyer of the Millburn Centre, The Glasgow Chinese School, took ownership of the building on 14th February 2025.
We are delighted to welcome the new owners to join the community of Royston.
